I have been in the fitness industry for over five years and have been personal training for three years. As a youth I played competitive sports such as ringette, softball and soccer. Two years ago I decided that I wanted to take my general fitness to the next level. I started weight training with a personal trainer and my goals were to be healthy and strong. This is when I was introduced to power-lifting and bodybuilding. After seeing results as quickly as I did I knew that this was not just a phase but a lifestyle for me. I am a competitive bodybuilder and am always looking for new ways to push my fitness to the next level. (more…)

What started out as an irregular pastime has flourished into my passion, my energy and fortunately enough, my career. Fitness has become my life, through and through… from everyday health to nutrition to training… fitness is my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I was lucky enough to have been exposed to the art of bodybuilding at a young age, which has garnered a plethora of experience, knowledge and excitement for me. I have always been surrounded by positive influences in the field of fitness and personal training and I continue to learn everyday from all directions, from my fellow trainers, fellow fitness enthusiasts and most importantly, my clients. Fitness has always been a part of my life. I was involved with athletics throughout my schooling, leading me to pursue a career as a physical education teacher. After seven years of teaching, I found myself striving to use and pass on what I know and love to a more receptive audience. This has lead to a positive career as an exercise therapist and, now, group training and education with 360 Fitness. (more…)

My whole life growing up revolved around sports. I spent every moment playing any sport I could. After graduating I then moved to Alberta and started at Red Deer College for Engineering. I became interested in the fitness industry first as a stress reliever and it quickly became a passion for me. I changed my major to Kinesiology gaining my diploma in fitness and health promotion. I started to enjoy power lifting and bodybuilding learning from some very talented lifters. Upon completing my diploma I decided to continue for my degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Activity and Nutrition. This was a great experience allowing me to work with elite athletes at the University in the Sports and Performance Laboratory. (more…)

Growing up in small town Alberta there wasn’t much else to do beside play sports. As a child and throughout high school I was actively involved in every extracurricular sport imaginable but found my true passion in hockey and fastball. An injury late in high school halted me from pursuing these sports competitively but opened my eyes to the world of rehabilitation. It was not until I started physio and the long journey to recovery that I first became interested in anatomy, muscular development and ultimately how the body worked. My interest grew and eventually led me to Red Deer where I attended RDC and obtained my diploma in Kinesiology, majoring in Fitness and Health Promotion. After gaining some experience in the fitness and athletic training industry I realized that I wanted to further advance my education. I enrolled at the Alberta Institute of Massage to become a registered massage therapist where I graduated with Directors Honors. I have found these two professions compliment each other very well and have significantly increased my knowledge of the human body and what it is capable of. (more…)

As a young girl I was always very active and highly involved in competitive sports. At only 5′2” my attitude to succeed (despite my height) created a very driven and goal oriented perception in sports and in life. At the age of 15 I began to see a future emerging from my after school sports. I could see myself achieving much higher standards which led me to pursue dry land training to become the best athlete I could be. It was at this time where I realized my love and passion for health and fitness pushing me to pursue a career in the health and wellness field. (more…)

I have always enjoyed being active, while I was in high school I played volleyball, basketball, soccer, participated in track and rodeoed. After I graduated I went on to play volleyball in college.
It was an easy decision for me to enroll in a Bachelor of Science program with a major in Kineseology since I had always been so involved with sports. I love learning about how the body works and how exercise can change it! Once I finished playing volleyball I transferred to the University of Lethbridge where I completed my degree. (more…)
