January has almost come to a close – where are we at?
If you are anything like us at 360 Fitness Personal Training you may have felt Jan 1st was months ago already.
And with that, it may be hard to see where you came from, where you are and where you are going.
If you feel like this…we suggest it’s time to start journaling. Corny, but so important.
Journaling can be a self-care and stress management technique or simply a way to connect with your inner guidance. More often than not, deep down inside, most people know what they want to look and feel like – they just never take the time to connect with those feelings.
Numerous studies have shown that journaling reduces stress, keeps you on track better with your fitness goals and gives you a better sense of accomplishment.
A quick daily summary about how you feel, things you are grateful for, what changes you are noticing in your mind & body, as well as notes about your overall experience can be life changing.
If nothing else I encourage you to ask yourself some of the following questions and write down your answers as you start this process:
• What are three toxic physical behaviors that are no longer serving you? (eating sugar, drinking sodas, not getting enough rest, not exercising, choosing poor quality foods, etc.)
• What are three toxic mental behaviors that are no longer serving you? (procrastinating, low self-esteem, negative self-talk, drastic changes in mood, depression, anxiety, etc)
• What are one to three behaviors you can start doing today that will get you closer to your health & fitness goals?
• If everything was going right with nutrition, exercise, and sleep what would be different about your life and how would it make you feel?
STOP, and take some time today for yourself to seek these answers from within…
It will make a HUGE difference in the results you are able to achieve over the next month.
