Growing up in small town Alberta there wasn’t much else to do beside play sports. As a child and throughout high school I was actively involved in every extracurricular sport imaginable but found my true passion in hockey and fastball. An injury late in high school halted me from pursuing these sports competitively but opened my eyes to the world of rehabilitation. It was not until I started physio and the long journey to recovery that I first became interested in anatomy, muscular development and ultimately how the body worked. My interest grew and eventually led me to Red Deer where I attended RDC and obtained my diploma in Kinesiology, majoring in Fitness and Health Promotion. After gaining some experience in the fitness and athletic training industry I realized that I wanted to further advance my education. I enrolled at the Alberta Institute of Massage to become a registered massage therapist where I graduated with Directors Honors. I have found these two professions compliment each other very well and have significantly increased my knowledge of the human body and what it is capable of.
I have gained a vast amount of experience in sport specific training and have had the opportunity to work with and observe some of today’s top professional and amateur athletes. I have enjoyed working with these individuals, and am always looking for ways to continually increase my knowledge as a trainer in such a diverse industry. My greatest fulfillment comes from helping my clients reach their goals and watching their confidence and self-esteem soar. With that being said, I will strive to help my clients obtain there fitness goals, no matter how small or large they might be, and to overall, help people to live a better, healthier quality of life.
